Be Kind to Humankind

Be Kind to Humankind Week is a worldwide week-long celebration of kindness; and each day is dedicated to a specific act of kindness from August 25th to August 31st.

There are many meaningful acts of kindness, simple and uncomplicated, that you can accomplish for each day of the week.  

Here are some sustainable suggestions:

Be Thoughtful on Thursday by thinking about those around you with small acts of kindness such as preparing a healthy meal or doing an errand for or with someone.

Forgive Your Foe on Friday by turning negative thoughts into positive ones through meditation, exercise, hiking, yoga or other calming activity or experience.

Speak Kind Words on Saturday by giving a “shout out” to your favorite sustainable non-profit organization through social media.  Please remember to tag @tshirtatelier

Sacrifice Your Wants For Others Needs on Sunday by spending the day volunteering at a local environmental event that benefits everyone.

Motorist Consideration on Monday by walking as often as possible to decrease carbon emissions to the environment and creating less crowded traffic conditions.

Touch A Heart on Tuesday by donating gently used clothing to a shelter in need.

Be Willing To Lend A Hand on Wednesday by mending a garment for someone who doesn't know how; and teach them so they will know for the future.

This week-long observance was founded August 1988 by Lorraine Jara to inspire, motivate, and empower everyone around the world to be kind to each other.

Let’s all practice intentional and thoughtful acts of kindness as often as possible all year long.
