April is Earth Month and a favorite month for T Shirt Atelier.
Earth Month draws attention to our precious planet, raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection and sustainable practices. It also serves as a celebration of the natural world, reminding us of the beauty and diversity of our planet and the importance of preserving it for future generations.
Starting with Earth Day, April 22, 1970 and approximately 20 million participants across the U.S., this single day event played a crucial role in bringing attention to critical environmental issues like climate change, pollution, and depletion of natural resources; as well as urging individuals, communities, businesses and government leaders to take action.
By 1990, Earth Day had expanded to a global event, with over 200 million people in 141 countries participating. This success and momentum from the very first Earth Day and its global expansion led to the concept of Earth Month, a period of environmental awareness and action throughout the month of April.
In 2009, the United Nations designated April 22 as International Mother Earth Day, further strengthening the importance of environmental awareness and action.
Earth Month serves as a time to celebrate progress, reflect on challenges, and take action to protect the environment.
Earth Day is celebrated in nearly 200 countries, with over a billion people participating in events and activities with a shared commitment to environmental protection.
T Shirt Atelier is dedicated to this shared commitment to the earth and the environment; and to inspiring action and promoting sustainability during Earth Month.
