World Kindness Day
Posted on November 11 2023
World Kindness Day is celebrated every November 13th. It was established 25 years ago on this day by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of international non-governmental kindness organizations.
The World Kindness Movement (WKM) says its mission is “to inspire individuals and connect nations to create a kinder world. The WKM encourages and supports individuals, communities, cities and nations to establish independent kindness organisations to join the World Kindness Movement to see a kinder world realised in our lifetime.”
Any act of kindness and choosing to be kind makes a difference…by helping another person or family in need, volunteering at a local organization; donating your time, household items, food, money…and there are many other ideas online for this special day of kindness.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definitions of the word kindness are, a kind act, the quality of being friendly, generous, and thoughtful. World Kindness Day is an opportunity for each of us to spread kindness . Although it begins on November 13, kindness has no time frame and acts of kindness should be as often as possible all year long.
